How to Lose Weight Fast Around the Belly

There are many factors involved when considering losing that stubborn fat around the belly. What you eat and drink, how active you are, and your level of commitment and dedication, are essential in any weight loss regimen.

Something that people often forget when they try to lose that fat around the belly is not what they eat, but what they drink. Pop and many other beverages contain high amounts of sugar and other things that can cause fat around the belly. Many juices will try to fool you by claiming to be 100% juice, and will put pictures of delicious looking fruits (and sometimes vegetables as well) on the label.

Don't fall into this trap!

Just because there say it's delicious fruit and promises of 100% juice doesn't mean that there isn't a cup of extra sugar added to make the whole thing taste better! There are obviously alternatives to these sugar-filled pops and juices, such as 'diet' pop and low-fat milk. Of course the best alternative is regular old water!

On to exercise!

Crunches don't necessarily get rid of fat around the belly, they only make your abs much stronger. While weight lifting may help burn calories, the best kinds of exercises are going to be things such as swimming, running, and the lesser-known rowing. These activities (especially rowing and swimming) are constantly using almost every single muscle in your body, so therefore it is easy to understand why they burn more calories and help free you from your fat around the belly. Depending on your weight, one of these may be easier or more comfortable than the others.
